Walk into bar with my husband for a cocktail before our show. Staff asked if we would be having dinner. When we said just a cocktail they said they couldn’t accommodate us. We could go down the street to another bar they recommended. Very sad. We won’t be giving it a second chance.

Lori, we're truly sorry for how you and your husband were treated that evening — turning away guests who simply wanted to enjoy a cocktail before their show is not the experience we want anyone to have at Backstage. We'd love the opportunity to make this right and show you the hospitality you deserved from the start, so please reach out to us directly and we'll make sure your next visit is on us.

Only had breakfast early on Sunday morning, so I can't speak to the atmosphere at any other time. It was quiet and well lit. The menu was decent but a bit pricey. I got the Bagelwich with ham (pictured). The sandwich itself was quite simple so I was concerned about the $12 price tag. It was a huge sandwich with multiple thick pieces of ham in it. It came with 3 hashbrowns (like what McDonald's serves), they were fine. Also a small few pieces of fruit were included. Overall, the value of the sandwich was worth the price. I looked around the rest of their menu and nothing particularly unique or special jumped out at me. I didn't realize the sandwich would be made with hamsteak cause that wasn't listed on the menu (it was a pleasant surprise). My advice to management, if your food items have something unique about them, highlight that on the menu otherwise no one is going to know what makes your restaurant special. Servers were friendly. I'm perplexed at a situation that occurred though. My partner ordered a scrambled egg a la carte and it took significantly longer than my sandwich (which was made with scrambled eggs). They wait staff continually apologized for the delay and ultimately ended up taking it off the bill, but I don't understand how two orders for the same table using the exact same ingredient ended up coming out of the kitchen so far apart.

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback, Kurt, and we're really glad the Bagelwich won you over once you saw those thick-cut ham steaks inside! You make a great point about highlighting what makes our dishes special on the menu — that's genuinely helpful and something we're going to take a look at. We're sorry about the timing mix-up with the scrambled eggs; that's a fair head-scratcher and not the smooth experience we want for you and your partner, so we appreciate your patience and hope you'll give us another shot sometime.
